The purpose of this men’s bible study is to dig into God’s Word and compare what we find to how we are actually living our daily lives. In order to accomplish this goal, application is central and discussion deliberately encouraged. Come and be a part of our current study in the book of Judges, led by Jim Gaar.
Fellowship Activities
Once every month or two, the guys get together to hang out and have fun, sometimes going bowling and other times working together on a Saturday morning job to help someone out. These are great opportunities to have some laughs, build relationships, and relieve stress by getting away from the normal weekly activities.
If you have questions or an idea for an activity, talk with Ryan Toliver or call the church at 334-3678.
Women's Ministries
Bible Study
There are usually two 6-12 week topical Bible studies each year. The current women’s Bible study is meeting on Fridays at 2 PM at the church.
Girls’ Night Out
First Friday of each month at 6PM at a local restaurant.
Ladies’ Luncheon
Every other month on a Saturday.
Special Events
Special Events are also organized from time to time, ordinarily one in the Spring and one in the Fall.
College & Career
(Wed. nights at 6:30 PM)
The heartbeat of the C&C group
is to be
firmly grounded in the Word of God in order to make it a matter of lifestyle, then using that understanding of God’s Word to minister to others both in the local church and in the community. Another focus is to encourage relationships that please the Lord, for
both singles and young married couples. The class time itself begins with singing praises and moves into a Bible study (which right now is The Truth Project). Afterward, many of the young adults hang out together to build friendships, another hallmark of the C&C group.
Sunday School Classes
Relational
The goal of this Sunday school class is to generate group discussion, encouraging input from all who are present. Paul Griffis’s teaching style reflects the relationship-centered method that he takes toward his current ministry at New Hope Wilderness Camp and his experiences as a missionary for 27 years among the Yanomamö tribal people. Marriage is the current topic of study, with emphasis on God-centeredness and practical application. The class meets in the basement (where College & Career gathers on Wed nights), and adults of any age and marital status are welcome.
Scholarly
The driving force behind this Sunday school class is the approach—verse by verse, literal, historical, and grammatical, with attention to Greek and Hebrew. Dr. Larry Isitt’s intellectual teaching style reflects his expertise in literary criticism (he is an English professor at College of the Ozarks) and his seminary training. Jim Gaar is currently teaching in Larry’s place and is progressing through Galatians. (Jim is a retired Pastor who received his ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary.)The class meets in the sanctuary, and adults of any age and marital status are welcome.
Senior
With his teaching background, Darrell Ledbetter desires to shine a new light on whatever scripture they are studying, encouraging his attendees to stay alert to what God still desires to teach them, and challenging them to finish well. They are currently studying through the book of Acts. This class meets in the right wing of the sanctuary and is eager to welcome newcomers.
